Things To Do

One can go to the sites below without running into the usual tourist traps & crowds.  There is a lot to see & enjoy in Alabama but you do have to "think outside of the box."  If you have a site to share with your neighbors, please send a photo, short description & location.  Would love to post it.

Madison County Nature Trail - Huntsville, Alabama

The Madison County Nature Trail is located atop Green Mountain in Southeast Huntsville. Open free to the public every day from 7 A.M. until 30 minutes prior to sunset. Cambron Covered Bridge pictured above.

This 72 acre park encompasses Sky Lake, a 1.5 mile walking trail (fairly easy), pavilion, chapel, outdoor classroom and accessible restrooms.

Also, the park has a nice Picnic Area on Sky Lake with a view of Cambron Covered Bridge in the background.

Desoto Falls - magnificent 100-foot waterfall on the outskirts of the charming town of Mentone, Alabama. The water that flows over the falls forms one of the primary tributaries of the Little River. The stream is unique in that it is one of the few rivers in the nation that flows almost entirely on the top of a mountain.
